In court filings, HonorHealth hospital officials admit that whistleblower reporting was indeed true and patient privacy and confidentiality was indeed violated. IT helpdesk personnel at HonorHealth hospital were asking physicians for their secret passwords and then accessing the patient record system using the passwords of the physicians.

According to the wrongful termination lawsuit filed against HonorHealth hospital by a former employee who blew the whistle on these violations and was fired for it, HonorHealth hospital’s IT helpdesk staff gave themselves improper access to patient record system by using doctors’ confidential logins.
